Firefly Communications Experts has a combined 30 years of editing experience behind its work. We provide a range of document services, including editing, document design & preparation, and translation. We can manage your project from start to finish or provide support services at any step of the way.

Editing

Firefly’s team of text experts works with you to ensure your final document--large or small--is error-free and communicates its point as clearly as possible. We have edited hundreds of papers for academic and business clients.

Types of editing services:

  • Proofreading:

    A review to check for spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors. This is the lightest form of editing and does not account for stylistic or phrasing issues.

  • Copy Editing:

    Editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation and other mechanics of style; checking for consistency of mechanics and internal consistency of facts; may include checking citations for completeness and style, developing a list of acronyms, formatting headings and the table of contents.

  • Developmental Editing:

    Coordinating and editing a project from proposal or rough manuscript to final manuscript, incorporating input from authors, consultants and reviewers. May include budgeting, hiring, design supervision and project coordination.

Each project's needs are unique, and we can provide the most accurate quote with a sample of the project. Our rates range from $40-$65 per hour, and an average project runs 5 pages per hour (based on a standard 300-word page).

Document Design & Preparation

Firefly’s team has extensive experience managing projects from the editing to publishing stage. Once a document has been finalized, we work with our talented pool of designers (and, if necessary, printers) to ensure a superior final document. Document prep services we provide include:

  • Image Permissions and Research

  • Printing

Firefly’s translation experts are able to translate from English into the following languages:

  • Spanish

    (Latin America)
